Email Forwarding

Every domain registered with DomainOrders.com includes free Email Forwarding with up to 50 free mail forwardings per domain name.

Below is a sample from the Email Forwarding page and control panel. The first line specifies that the email address "info@sampledomain.com" will be forwarded to "myname@aol.com".

  Username   Domain   Forward To
1)   @sampledomain.com
2)   @sampledomain.com

Catch-all Email Feature

In the second line in the above example, the * sign in the Username field will configure every other email address with the domain extension "@sampledomain.com" to be forwarded to "myname@yahoo.com". This is a great feature to ensure that you will receive all email with your domain extension "@sampledomain.com", even misspellings. In other words, email addresses like "infoo@sampledomain.com" and "webmister@sampledomain.com" will all be forwarded to "myname@yahoo.com".

When you go to enter email addresses on the email information page, only a few blank lines appear at first. As you use the available lines and click Modify, then more lines will automatically appear the next time that you load the page, up to 50 lines for email forwardings, all for free!

How to Send Out Mail using Multiple Email Addresses from Outlook Express or
Web-based Email Accounts such as Yahoo.com

Email forwarding is the first step, or the "front end" component, of email branding and perception. The next step, or the "back end" solution, is to be able to send out multiple email addresses using your new domain name extension "@yourdomain.com" from an email account manager such as Microsoft Outlook or Outlook Express. If you don't have Outlook or Outlook Express, you can use a web-based email manager such as DailyEmail.com or Yahoo.com to configure "reply" email addresses.

Microsoft Outlook Express Configuration

In the steps that follow, we use the sample email address "info@sampledomain.com". Be sure to use your actual email address in place of "info@sampledomain.com" in the steps below.

Click "Tools" on the top menu bar and then click "Accounts".

Click the "Mail" subfolder tab and then click and highlight your default email address and account that is configured in Outlook Express from your ISP or hosting service.

Cick "Properties" on the right-hand menu bar. Click the "Servers" subfolder tab at the top. Write down the setting for "Outgoing Mail - SMTP". You will need this information later in the setup.

Click "Add" in the upper right-hand corner and select "Mail".

Type in your full new email address "info@sampledomain.com" as the "Display Name", then click "Next".

Select the option "I already have an email address I'd like to use" and type in your email address "info@sampledomain.com" in the "Email Address" text box. Then, click "Next".

On the next screen, select "POP3" in the drop-down list to display "My incoming mail server is a POP3 server." Type in your full email address in the text box for "Incoming mail (POP3, IMAP or HTTP) server". The "Outgoing mail (SMTP) server" configuration should be the same text as shown in your main mail account already configured with Outlook Express. (See above - the text you wrote down from the SMTP configuration.) This is usually an address provided by your ISP or hosting service. For example, if you use EarthLink, the "Outgoing mail (SMTP) server" would be "smtp.earthlink.net". Click "Next" to continue.

When you click "Next" to continue, you will most likely be given the message "The specified POP3 server does not appear to be a valid server name, do you want to use it anyway?" Click "Yes" to continue.

The next screen is the Internet Mail Logon screen. It doesn't really matter what you put in these two text boxes because you will probably only be sending out from this email address (account) using Outlook Express. (You will most likely be receiving email sent to this email address from a forwarding configuration set up above which will be pointed to your main POP3 account provided by your ISP or hosting service.) Type in anything in these two text boxes, or leave them as they are, and then click "Next".

Click "Finish" on the next screen.

You should return to the Internet Accounts screen with your new email address account "info@sampledomain.com" partially highlighted. Click on the email address of your new account in the listing to fully highlight it. Then click "Properties" on the right menu bar.

Click the "General" subfolder tab at the top. Fill in the text for "Organization" if desired.

Type in your complete email address "info@sampledomain.com" in the "Reply Address" text box. Make sure that your email address is also liste in the "Name" and "E-mail Address" fields.

Next, deselect (uncheck) the checked box at the bottom with the text "Include this account when receiving mail or synchronizing." This makes sure that this account only sends out email, it does not receive email. (Your incoming email to this address is already forwarded to another account. If it is forwarded to your POP3 account then you will already receive it in your Outlook Express Inbox.)

Click "Apply" and then "OK". Then click "Close".

Your account is now set up to send out emails using your email address "info@sampledomain.com".

When you open a new message text box in the future, there will be a drop-down list in the "From" field since you now have more than one email address that you can send out with. You can set up multiple email address aliases using the same procedure described above. All the accounts will be listed in the "From" drop-down list for you to choose from. For each message you send, select the desired email address to use as the "From" or "Reply to" email address from the drop-down list.

Yahoo and Other Web-Based Email Configuration

Many web-based email managers allow you to change the "Reply To" email address enabling you to customize an email address alias when you send out mail from your account. You can usually set up only one email alias with each account, but it can function in the same manner as described above for Outlook Express. Since there are so many different email managers and different methods of configuring them, we are not able to provide configuration details for them here. Refer to the configuration documentation for your email manager for information on how to set up your email account and email aliases.
